Methods of Compliance
Objectives:
After completion of this module, the learner will be able to:
- Identify the difference between the terms universal and standard precautions.
- Discuss the various engineering and work practice controls to reduce or eliminate occupational exposure.
- Discuss the requirements for proper hand washing including but not limited to hand washing facilities, the proper method, and the use of antiseptic cleaners.
- State the proper procedure for handling needles and other sharps.
- Explain the proper methods to reduce surface contamination and decontamination.
- Review items considered personal protective equipment (PPE) and determine the appropriate use of PPE.
